Ken Watson - Author, Historian and Curator of the SK Pierce Victorian Mansion - joins us to talk about his new book capturing the genealogy of the SK Pierce family and the true history of this venerable landmark meticulously restored in South Gardner, Massachusetts.
Sure, you've heard about the SK Pierce Haunted Victorian Mansion, as seen on The Most Terrifying Places in America. But did you know the backstory about the Pierce family and this venerable landmark that was almost condemned before owner Rob Conti hired Ken Watson to renovate the building to its former glory?
Now the historical curator and an author, Ken (who was also on episode 9) joins us for episode 33 to share a firsthand look into the past of the SK Pierce Victorian Mansion, uncovering surprising truths and mistruths ... and sharing a few personal ghost stories as well.
Once again, I bravely ventured to the SK Pierce Mansion in Gardner, Massachusetts to interview Ken in person (I live in the next town over -- literally 7 minutes away). So, due to the tall ceilings and mahogany wood in the home, you will notice that the audio is a bit more "airy" than typical episodes recorded over the Web. Before I hit record, Ken noted that there was a spirit that joined us. While editing the audio there were a few times where I thought I heard a whispery sound -- in most cases I ignored it and edited it out. I did share two instances (amplified) which may be debunked, or may not be. However, as a paranormal documentary filmmaker and frequent visitor, I can assure you that the ghostly history of this beautiful mansion is irrefutable.
I strongly encourage you to buy the book which is only available at select locations and has already sold out once. Good news -- quantities have been replenished, and you can get a signed copy by emailing Ken at kenwa73@yahoo.com or by purchasing via his PayPal page here.

Author, Historian and Tour Guide
Ken Watson has been associated with the SK Pierce Mansion, located in South Gardner, Massachusetts, since 2013. When Rob and Allison Conti purchased the mansion in 2015, they hired Ken to do the majority of the interior restoration. Over the next four years, Ken meticulously restored the mansion to its former glory. In 2018, Ken was named the historical curator. With the misleading information in social media surrounding the family and the mansion, Ken felt compelled to give historically accurate information. After more than two years of research and viewing over 1,000 documents, Ken wrote and published the "Sylvester Knowlton Pierce Genealogy: History of the Victorian Mansion and the SK Pierce Chair Factory." During his time at the mansion, Ken and his wife Memie - a witch and medium - have experienced many paranormal encounters with members of the deceased Pierce family and other transient spirits who pass through the mansion's three known portals. Ken and Memie appeared in the documentary "Afraid of Nothing" and the SK Pierce Mansion was also featured on the Travel Channel's "Most Terrifying Places in America" paranormal documentary series.
